Does Lifting Ice Cream Count?

Now that you have survived a little bit of college, you start to hear the gym calling your name. Maybe again or maybe even for the first time. Of course, this is not to pressure anyone into going to the gym or changing their appearance for anyone. Every person is beautiful and the gym is just one way I find beauty through strength and trying not to trip over the equipment. Which (in all honesty) happens more than you would think. I started playing sports from the time I was about six or seven years old. With that said, being active is a very important part of life and coming to college was the first time I was not going to have mandatory practice or training. Thinking about walking on for a sport was something that I did consider, but I wanted something new and different to do with my time. For instance, freshman year you could guarantee that I would be out on the sand volleyball courts almost every night and then by second semester I was trying to go to the gym on a regular basis every morning with friends. Let me tell you the 6 am was not a wonderful time to wake up and go the gym for me. And it got to the point where that was obviously not working for any of us. Sleep>Gym. Which, fast-forward to the present, my roommate and I go to the gym just about every evening because we like to eat ice cream. No really, we do it so we can eat food! And so that we can be in shape by spring break…or maybe finals. This is a way we both find to stay healthy and we have both begun watching what we eat and how it effects how we feel. There is a schedule we have set up and what workouts we do and which days we do them. With all of this being said, it is a process. Figuring out the healthy foods to eat, when to put the ice cream away and when to go for a run can be hard. Trust the process because nothing is going to change overnight or without hard work. And sweat…a lot of sweat. The amount of sweat makes it look like my entire body is crying, which it truly is. And if you have any suggestions or plans you like to follow for workouts, please feel free to comment them down below!

I love this! Does lifting ice cream count? This title really sums up my life. While I need to get in the gym, I totally agree with you. Could ice cream count? This would make life so much simpler and adulting a whole lot easier.

KB, I really enjoyed reading your post. Staying in shape and being in college don't really go together. Even with me being an athlete I even find it hard to stay in shape. With classes, practices and late nights studying it's hard to eat healthy or go to the gym. But seems like you have found some motivation to work out so you can enjoy the sweet things in life. It is one of the many motivators I have to work out. I am glad you find working out to be a stress reliever and a way for you to enjoy some splurges along the way. I look forward to keeping up with your blog! I really have enjoyed the…

Great Post! I as well was always someone who was extremely active growing up. I played soccer here for 2 years until it ended because of an injury! I totally agree how going to the gym is one of the best ways to feel like you accomplished something and can reward yourself with that scoop of ice cream or piece of cake! So awesome to hear you enjoy living a healthy lifestyle!
